What is labial rejuvenation?
Medically referred to as labiaplasty, labial rejuvenation is a procedure that makes improvements to the vaginal lips, or labia minora, and/or majora. Both are located on the outer area of the vagina. Along with enhancing vaginal appearance and a woman's sexual confidence, the procedure could also improve comfort during intercourse.
What does vaginal rejuvenation improve?
A labial rejuvenation procedure can:
- Reduce the size of the labia.
- Correct irregularities in shape.
- Make the outer vagina more symmetrical.
How is the procedure performed?
Labial rejuvenation is an outpatient procedure that can be performed with either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Excess skin is removed from the area, and labia are then reshaped.

What can be expected after the procedure?
How soon until I can return to work?
Every patient is different. Most patients can return to work within days and resume sexual intercourse within six weeks, but heed the surgeon's advice about when to resume activities following the procedure.

Results may be apparent immediately, though it could take weeks for final results to develop.
Is labial rejuvenation covered by insurance?
Labial rejuvenation is considered a cosmetic procedure and is generally not covered by insurance companies.
